Welcome to the School and District
Improvement Database!
The data included herein are derived
from the American Institutes for Research’s (AIR)
database compiled from state sources for the National Assessment of Educational
Progress. Some states not available from the
AIR database have been added from state-provided sources. School level data are
not available from all states. However,
updates from
AIR for this database are continuous throughout the year.
AIR will be collecting new state assessment data in the fall of 2007 for the 2005-2006
and the 2006-2007 school years. Assessment
scores are reported as the percent of students scoring proficient or better on state
assessments.

You are able to define your own
queries to produce tables of information about schools and districts, including
multi-year assessment data.
You are able to search for:
- district-level data, school-level data, and charter school data.
- schools or districts within ranges of percentages of minority students and students
in poverty (free or reduced lunch).
- schools or districts within ranges of enrollment.
- schools or districts demonstrating specific improvement trajectories, including
a flat trajectory, incremental improvement, turnaround, or trajectories that you
define.
- Specific grade levels and ranges of grade levels.
- Reading scores, math scores, both reading and math, and reading and math averaged.
Lots of choices.
Let’s begin.
