WHAT IS SOLID FOUNDATION?
Solid Foundation® is a school-based, team process that helps: |

- strengthen family-school connections,
- engage parents in children's learning, and
- improve student academic and social learning.
Working with an External Partner (trained coach from the district, state, PIRC, or community group) the school adopts one of three Solid Foundation® paths described below.
With Solid Foundation, the connection between parents and their children's learning is not left to chance. |

| PATH 3: COMPREHENSIVE MODEL |

The Solid Foundation® model enables the school to put in place a first-class parental involvement program, with all the evidence-based components of a strong school community. The School Community Council, comprised of the principal, teachers, and parents, is responsible for implementing model, meeting twice each month and following the field-tested, well-structured agendas in the SCC Planning Guide. |

The Solid Foundation® computerized data and documentation system provides careful tracking of progress and generates progress reports useful in school improvement plans and proposals for funding.
The model is put in place over a two-year period, and the SCC continues to build upon this base of excellence for continuous improvement of the school community. By the third year, the school has integrated the model into its way of operating, continuing to enhancing its policies, programs, and practices. ADI grants the Partner Organization rights to use the SCC Planning Guide, Resource Manual, and computerized data and documentation system in all the schools it serves.
