What is the purpose of the NCLB Institute?
The purpose of the NCLB Institute is to provide up-to-date information and practical tools to school personnel, community agency personnel, and parent leaders so that they can inform parents about the Illinois accountability system and the provisions of No Child Left Behind.

Who should attend?

School personnel, staff of community-based and faith-based organizations, and parent leaders interested in informing parents about the Illinois accountability system, NCLB, school choice, and supplemental education services.

What do parents need to know?

Pillars of NCLB
Accountability for results, flexibility, what works, and parental choice

Illinois State Board of Education Accountability System
School report cards, adequate yearly progress (AYP), learning standards, testing, safer schools, qualifications of school personnel, school improvement status, and more

Assessing school safety, discipline, level of learning, options, eligibility and transportation issues
